THE Nongoma police is investigating the fire at the offices of the Nongoma Municiplaity over the weekend.
The fire destroyed part of the building.
Police spokesman Thulani Zwane said the police received a report of the fire at midnight on Friday.
The municipality has been in the news recently regarding their poor financial situation.
Zwane says they are investigating a case of malicious damage to property. No-one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
