Sudden passing of Mtubatuba councillor
Mkhwanazi was a dedicated councillor and was passionate about community development
MTUBATUBA Municipal Chief Whip, Cllr Zakhele Nyawo, has expressed his grief at the untimely passing of their Ward 12 councillor, Luke Mkhwanazi.
Nyawo said they heard that Mkhwanazi (64) told his wife that he was not feeling well.
‘We are told that when his family offered him water to drink, and to rush him to the local clinic, he refused, saying it was too late,’ said Nyawo.
‘Instead he asked to see his children and when they arrived, they rushed him to the local clinic where he was declared dead on arrival.
‘Mkhwanazi was a dedicated councillor and was passionate about community development.
‘He was serving his second term as a ward councillor and was a founder of the local football club, Ikhono FC, chairperson of Dukuduku Taxi Association and an owner of Ikhono Security Company.
‘He was helpful to the community and the needy people of KwaShikishela.’
