And the Sugarfest show goes on
The committee has appointed John’s very good friend, Andre Gouma to take over the running of the Show, ably assisted by Hayden Percival and Barry Saville
FOLLOWING the sudden death of ‘Mr Sugarfest’, John nightingale in September last year, it has been agreed that the Sugarfest Show will continue as the ‘John Nightingale Sugarfest’.
The committee has appointed John’s very good friend, Andre Gouma to take over the running of the Show, ably assisted by Hayden Percival and Barry Saville.
Andre has lived in Amatikulu for 28 years and is very well-connected with the farming industry.
He and his son Dirk have been a huge part of the Sugarfest team over the past few years.
They are both extremely familiar with the running of the show and have the Nightingale family’s support.
The John Nightingale Sugarfest will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, 10 and 11 July 2019, at the Amatikulu Country Club.
Continuity
So as to ensure continuity, the committee has officially handed all documents over to Andre.
The website www.sugarfest.co.za, the Facebook page and the banking details all remain the same.
Kathy, John’s widow, will assist Andre with all relevant information from past shows and form a link so that traditions will be continued into future shows.
Andre will contact exhibitors in due course to advise them when bookings will open and the cost and size of the stands.
Kathy says, ‘I know that the John Nightingale 2019 Sugarfest will be a special one and I ask you to continue to support the show.
‘I look forward to welcoming you all in 2019 to the John Nightingale Sugarfest.’
Contact details for Andre are 060 452 7525 or admin@sugarfest.co.za.
Email sent to the old address will be forwarded to the new address.
