Go small on Small Business Friday

Small businesses help grow the local economy

SMALL businesses are the lifelines of every community.

When supported, they contribute to the local economy, benefiting everyone.

So why not pledge to give more support to small, local businesses, not just on Small Business Friday but every day.

Small business benefits to the community include unique products and services, unrivalled customer experience, an opportunity for community development, a chance for local economy growth and to give back.

‘Small businesses are hidden gems in our communities offering unique products and services we’re unlikely to find in any big brand retail store,’ said Viresh Harduth, Vice President: New Customer Acquisition (Small and Medium Businesses) for Sage Africa and Middle East.

‘The owners go out of their way to provide the best possible service, to the point where they start feeling like family.

‘This goodwill spreads to the broader community, where small businesses support other small businesses, creating a ripple of positive effects for our communities, including higher employment and property rates, and lower crime.’

Harduth said one way retailers can support Small Business Friday is to support small, local businesses; pay the full price knowing their money is providing a family with food and contributing to local economy growth, and tell people about the service and products of that small business.

‘Don’t forget to leave a positive review on their social pages. It’s appreciated more than you know and could help them grow their business.’
