Rabies case reported in eShowe

These were found in eShowe, Shaka’s Kraal and uMzimkulu

THE latest weekly rabies report ending 24 August shows three positive cases, all dogs in KZN.

These were found in eShowe, Shaka’s Kraal and uMzimkulu.

The eShowe case was caught in Addison Street and euthanised last Wednesday.

Being a stray, it could have run a long way before reaching Addison Street.

Fortunately, the dogs that are known to have been in contact with it have been vaccinated and are receiving boosters.

The law says if your pets are not vaccinated and they come into contact with a rabid animal, they will be humanely destroyed.

It is up to every pet owner to keep their dogs and cats’ vaccinations up to date.
