High school learners knocked over by taxi in Empangeni
The two matric learners apparently tried to run across the road at the last minute
TWO high school girls had to be taken to hospital after they were knocked over by a taxi in Kerk Street, Empangeni this morning.
The two matric learners from Mnini High School in Ntambanana apparently tried to run across the road at the last minute as a minibus taxi approached.

One learner sustained critical injuries to her head and back and was transported to Ngwelezana
Hospital for further treatment, while her friend was taken to Garden Clinic and treated for abrasions to her head and knee.
A case of reckless and negligent driving has been opened and will be investigated by Empangeni SAPS.
