U13 soccer festival ready to go

Twelve competing schools will be divided into four pools and play three 20-minute matches before qualifying for the knockout stages

OWING to heavy rains over the past weekend, the annual U13 Build It Soccer Festival was postponed and will now take place on Saturday, 8 September at Empangeni Preparatory School.

Twelve competing schools will be divided into four pools and play three 20-minute matches before qualifying for the knockout stages.

Felixton College, KwaMbonambi, Empangeni Christian School, Empangeni Preparatory, Grantham Park, St Catherine’s, Grantleigh, Mandlankala, Wood & Row, uFsimba, Ingweni and Shashweni will be competing for the first prize of a trophy, full soccer kit, water bottles, practice balls and individual player trophies.

The runners-up will receive a trophy, medals and full player kit sponsored by Old Mutual.

Action is scheduled to get underway from 7.30am, with prize giving at 3pm.
