Bike run boost for Richards Bay SPCA
About 90 bikers participated in the ride which ended at Stallions in Meerensee after various stops along the way
A TOTAL of 730kg of animal food was on Saturday handed over to Richards Bay SPCA at the Bikerholics’ annual winter run in aid of the cash-strapped NPO.
About R10 000 in cash was also raised, with R6 370 already donated and the rest due to come in.
Sanctioned by the North Coast Biking Federation, the charity run, which started at Essenwood Spar so participants could buy animal food of their choice, was organised by Bikerholics.
‘We would like to thank all north coast bikers who participated in and donated towards this important charity event,’ said Blackie Swart of Bikerholics.
He also thanked Essenwood Spar for donating 10 bags and 18 tins of food, the Basement for donating R1 000, Stallions for providing the venue, and SMG BMW for donating 250kg of dog food.
‘All this support is very generous and much appreciated,’ said Sarel Small, Richards Bay SPCA Chairperson.
