Lack of water angers community
The most affected areas are Nhlabane, Nkunzebomvu and Goyintethe
UMFOLOZI Municipality’s Ward 3 community has expressed anger at King Cetshwayo District Municipality’s failure to deliver clean water.
They say they have to share water with livestock.
Local resident and senior citizen, Thembani Mbuyazi, accused the district municipality of failing to keep its promises.
‘They promised to supply us with clean water at the beginning of last year at a meeting at the Mbonambi Tribal Court, but nothing has materialised to date.

‘We have seen water pipes in the Mondi Reserve, but they cannot supply the whole area as not all of us live close to the water pipe systems.
‘Schools and businesses suffer the most.’
King Cetshwayo District Municipality Public Relations Manager, Rekha Naidoo, appealed for calm, saying the municipality was attending to the water provision matter.
