This letter is written in response to the front page article in the ZO of 29 June – ‘Baby rape: Parents under fire’.
Why didn’t this monstrous man ask for bail?
Is it because he knows the punishment he will receive from the community members will be much worse than what he faces in prison?
I say give the community what they want – release him so he can be dealt with.
The parents should also be arrested! Not taking your child for medical treatment is abuse.
Even if the chances are slim for them being arrested for negligence, at least justice will be served because they are in the hands of the angry community members whom I salute.
In the same issue we read about Richards Bay Family Care (RBFC) on the verge of closing its doors owing to lack of sponsorship, this being a place that helps those just like baby Zama, a place that removes abused children from dangerous situations to a place of safety.
I pray that the RBFC is able to continue its much needed services.
