Four people died in a head-on collision between a taxi and a VW Polo near Ntumeni, eShowe on Sunday night.
According to reports, all four men travelling in the Polo died at the scene, while a passenger in the taxi also passed away.
The driver and another passenger in the taxi sustained critical injuries and were taken to eShowe Hospital for treatment.
eShowe police are investigating the cause of the crash and a case of culpable homicide has been opened.
