Lonely blind man needs a helping hand
Lonely Absalom Ntsele (81), who lives in a three-roomed RDP house, says he feels abandoned as his family left him and moved to Ngwelezana
AN elderly blind man from Ntobozi Reserve in KwaMbonambi is looking for companionship.
Lonely Absalom Ntsele (81), who lives in a three-roomed RDP house, says he feels abandoned as his family left him and moved to Ngwelezana.
‘I have a spare room which is not being used. Anyone can come and stay there, so that he or she can help me when death comes.’
Ntsele, who survives on a government pension, is forced to hire someone to do his washing.
‘I am fortunate to have friends, some church members, who look after me. God has been my strength ever since,’ he said.
Ntsele uses a gas stove to cook and when he runs out of gas, he collects wood to make a fire.
Amose Mtshali of Amangwe Village undertook to visit Ntsele to see how the organisation could help him.
