MEC for Education visits injured pupils

This follows a serious accident in which 74 learners were injured when a bus overturned in Mthonjaneni

MEC for Education Mthandeni Dlungwana visited a number of injured pupils at Ngwelezane and St Mary’s Magwaza district hospitals yesterday.

This follows a serious accident on Tuesday afternoon in which 74 learners were injured when a bus overturned on the P253 at Mthonjaneni.

Three learners sustained critical injuries, with a female learner having her arm amputated.

Reports indicate that the bus, certified to carry 65 passengers, was transporting at least 98 learners from Mawanda Primary school and Obuka High School.
