Arrest for unlicensed firearm

According to KwaMsane SAPS spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Mdletshe, shortly after midnight police heard a gunshot in the Mfekayi Reserve area in KwaMsane

A TWENTY-three-year-old suspect was on Tuesday arrested by KwaMsane police after he was found in possession of an unlicenced firearm.

According to KwaMsane SAPS spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Mdletshe, shortly after midnight police heard a gunshot in the Mfekayi Reserve area in KwaMsane.

‘Members proceeded to the direction of a gunshot noise and when they arrived they conducted a preliminary investigation and managed to obtain information of the homestead from which the shot was believed to have been fired.

‘On the arrival at the homestead members asked the suspect for his firearm, which he produced together with 43 rounds of ammunition and one magazine.

‘The suspect failed to produce a firearm license, was apprehended and charged for Possession of Unlicensed of firearm.

‘He is expected to appear before KwaMsane Magistrate Court soon,’ said Mdletshe.
