THERE has been mixed reaction from fans across the globe following the release of the 2018 soccer World Cup song.
The tournament’s official track – a fast-paced dance tune titled Live it up – features American actor and rapper Will Smith. Nicky Jam and Kosovar singer Era Istrefi also feature on the track, which is produced by Diplo.
Jason Derulo’s Colours is the ‘Coca-Cola promotional anthem’ of the event in Russia.
‘It’s an honour to be asked to perform at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. This global event brings people from all over the world to cheer, laugh and experience magic.
‘Collaborating with Nicky, Era and Diplo on this track represents harmony, eclectic flavours and genres coming together. At the end of the day, we just want to see the world dance,’ Will Smith said in a statement.
Both songs are catchy and great, but it’s going to be tough to ever top the 1-2 punch of Waka Waka and Wavin’ Flag from the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

With the football competition kicking off on 14 June, fans have enough time to learn the lyrics as Live It Up has already been released on multiple streaming platforms.
The FIFA World Cup Official Music Video will be available as of 7 June.
