Bay mom wears style crown

LOCAL beauty queen and Mrs KZN 2013 winner Angelique Wright, brought home the title of first princess this past weekend at the Mrs Mzantsi Africa 2013 beauty pageant. Competing against contestants from all over South Africa, Wright managed to impress the judges after a four-day programme of assessments and judging rounds in Camps Bay, Cape Town.

To qualify for the Mzantsi Africa 2013 nationals, contestants needed to be selected in the top five of their Role Models SA Provincial Pageant during 2012 or 2013.

Contestants had the opportunity to wear an outfit of choice in the first round and for the second round the theme was ‘African Kaleidoscope’, in celebration of the cultural diversity of our country.

Angelique designed her own outfit, which was then put together by Anette Smith.

Wright also managed to scoop five awards in this pageant, which included ‘Role Model of the Year’; ‘Businesswoman of the Year’, ‘Style Award’, ‘Most Photogenic’ and the ‘Ramp Model’ awards.

Vote for local beauty queen Angelique Wright in the national finals of Mrs Mzantsi Africa 2013 beauty pageant.

Angelique was crowned Mrs KwaZulu-Natal 2013 earlier this year and has been busy with guest appearances as well as charity fund-raisers.

She will now represent KZN at the final pageant in Cape Town later this month.

One of the awards in the contest is a ‘Public Vote Award’ and Angelique has her eye on this crown.
