Richards Bay expo opens opportunities for learners
At least 3000 Grade 11 and 12 learners were expected to attend the two day event
HIGH school learners from across the region benefited enormously from a massive educational expo hosted by the JB Marks Education Trust Fund in Richards Bay last week.
At least 3000 Grade 11 and 12 learners were expected to attend the two day event but owing to protest action in nearby areas on the first day, many learners were not able to be bused in.

The fund, established by the National Union of Mine Workers (NUM) 20 years ago for the purpose of addressing the needs to empower the National Union of Mine Workers members and their children/dependants, was celebrating its seventh annual event under the theme -‘Education is power’.
Their mandate is to ensure the youth are empowered with knowledge and the right skill sets and the expo platform was used to empower learners with information, guidance and advice on minimising career challenges faced in the country.
