THE Zululand squash fraternity will welcome some of the country’s top players when they host the 2018 SA Country Districts squash tournament in Empangeni and Richards Bay from 9 to 12 May.

Ten provinces will fight it out for the honours, with the additional goal main by players to gain selection for the SACD team.

Top SA players who will be on Zululand’s doorstep showcasing their skills include Christo Potgieter, JP Brits, Rudi van Niekerk, Jimmy Schlebusch and Alwyn Venter.

Potgieter, who resides in Potchefstroom and trains with Masjiensquash Academy, has a world ranking of 341 and is an exciting player at the age of 30 and someone to watch at the tournament.

Another top player to watch out for will be Brits (27), who has a world ranking of 208 and is an upcoming talent on the PSA World Tour.
