Ulundi woman shot in cold blood

ULUNDI police is investigating a case of murder after a 61-year-old woman was shot by unknown suspects at her house in D section in Ulundi on Friday.

Philisiwe Zondi (61) was at home when two the suspects knocked on the door and asked to speak to her.

‘When Zondi appeared, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot her at close range before running away from the scene,’ said Zululand police spokesperson, Captain Nkosie Gwala.

‘She was rushed to Enkonjeni Hospital in Ulundi and later transferred to Ngwelezana Hospital, where she died soon after arrival.’

A case of murder is under investigation and no arrests have yet been made. The motive for the attack is still unknown.’
