City of uMhlathuze elects first female speaker
The position was vacated by the untimely passing of former Speaker Mfundo Mthenjana in February
IN a first for the City of uMhlathuze, a woman has been elected as Speaker.
Counsellor Slondile Mkhize was elected during a special Council meeting on Friday.
The position was vacated by the untimely passing of former Speaker Mfundo Mthenjana in February.
Council reshuffled the top leadership structure by releasing Mkhize from her previous position of Deputy Mayor and replacing her with Counsellor Duduzile Sibiya.
