Once again when targeting these bad boys make sure that one’s tackle is up to scratch to avoid disappointment after a hook-up.
These fish are strong and rock up to the fight fully loaded and ready to get away.
Rock and surf fisherman are encouraged to fish along reefs up north to maximise results.
A variety of beautiful edibles like giant speckled snappers and rock cods are hanging out in these areas.
When working the reefs, use circle hooks to avoid getting stuck while winding in.
The best baits to use in these areas are red eye sardines and chokka.
Freshwater
Tiger fishing in Jozini has been equivalent to watching paint dry as the water levels are very low and the clarity closer to mud than moonshine.
Bait is the way to go during these periods, so pack away all artificial lures.
Make sure to use sardines or live baits to increase one’s chances of landing a whopper.
