Hotrod tour thrills KZN crowds
Richards Bay's Neville Loosemore cruised to victory in the second leg of the 2018 National Hotrod Tour
RICHARDS Bay’s Neville Loosemore cruised to victory in the second leg of the 2018 National Hotrod Tour, which took place at the ZCBF Showgrounds in Richards Bay over the weekend.
Loosemore remained patiently in hot pursuit behind pole sitter Seef Fourie for the bulk of the race, before overtaking at the back end of the race to take a memorable home victory.
Seef settled for second with Jason Loosemore sealing third, with fifth placed WF Weideman taking ProAm honours for the event.
Jason qualified in eighth position and threaded through the field, passing Amos Cockeram and Weideman before getting caught up behind Rudy Myburgh.
But with Myburgh experiencing locking of the front brakes, Jason passed and narrowed the gap on the leading pair.
Despite chocking the throttle and trying every trick in his hand book, Jason ended the race in third spot.
A record entry of 29 cars thrilled the local crowds under sweltering conditions, but the racing was enjoyed by all.
