Funds raised as learners learn about the Rotary Connection Ride
Sagewood learners raise school funds through Connection Ride thanks to sponsors
SAGEWOOD Prep outside Gingindlovu received a welcome boost to their coffers thanks to Peugeot South Africa who added R4 000 to the amount raised through the Rotary Connection Ride organised by the Rotary Club of Empangeni.
Kenneth Hodgson, Group Chairman of the Midbay Group and Dealer Principal of Peugeot Richards Bay, presented the cheque to Sagewood principal Kathy Nightingale on Tuesday.
Educator Nicola Robarts, who participated in the ride from Richards Bay to Cape Town, inspired all the learners who raised a whopping R39 000, including the Peugeot donation.
The school followed the progress of the riders as they made their way from Richards Bay to Cape Town in time to participate in the Cape Town Epic.
Not bad for a 100-strong school of Grade R to Grade 7 learners.
