SHE rides a mean 1 000cc motorbike, has taken kickboxing lessons and her friends call her ‘Tomb Raider’, after the fiery computer game heroine.
And Richards Bay estate agent Angie Morris showed her toughness on Wednesday when she fought a would-be thief to recover her stolen cell phone.
The drama began when she left her phone on the supermarket counter at the LAC centre in Meerensee.
On returning to her office across the passage she realised her mistake and headed straight back, only to discover the phone had been ‘claimed’ by someone else.
‘He was pointed out to me as he casually strolled across the car park and I chased after him,’ said the fearless young lady.
‘I grabbed my phone as he turned round and then hit him hard in the chest.’
With her brain moving as fast as her fist, Angie then photographed the culprit on the cell phone camera.
As the young man turned and walked away, she grabbed him again, ‘ready to rumble’.
Fortunately, security staff arrived and the man was detained while the in-store CCTV footage was examined, showing him to indeed have taken the phone, which he had claimed was his own.
Police were summoned and a case of theft was opened.
‘Nowadays your whole life is on your phone, and I wasn’t prepared to lose mine,’ said the brave Bay babe.
