Addressing the ‘scarce skills’ shortage
Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone issued bursaries to eight Class of 2017 matric learners

EIGHT Class of 2017 matric learners from the region each received a bursary to study at the university of their choice, thanks to a Study Assistance Programme recently rolled out by the Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone (RBIDZ).
The programme is aimed at contributing towards the education of the aspiring and determined youth of the King Cetshwayo District.
‘Skills development is a national priority in South Africa and a critical factor to the future success of the country,’ said the organisation.
The programme is a direct response to government’s calls for reform in the ‘scare skills’ disciplines and aims to redress imbalances in these fields.
