Records tumble at Leomat 1 000m swim
Over 500 swimmers took to the waters over the weekend, to test their endurance
SEALS Swimming Club’s Luke Verwey torpedoed his way to overall victory at the 27th annual Leomat 1 000m Swim event hosted by uShaka Swimming Club in conjunction with Magic Moments, held at the Empangeni Municipal swimming pool over the weekend, in a record time of 11.19.53.
The young talented swimmer completed the 40x25m laps to bag the Fastest Male Swimmer award.
The Fastest Female Swimmer award went to uShaka Club swimmer Sharon Crous who cruised home in a record time of 12.48.60.
