Bonsai workshop not to be missed
The workshop is open to members and non-members of the Zululand Bonsai Society
ANYONE interested in Bonsai will not want to miss this weekend’s exhibition hosted by the Zululand Bonsai Society.
Presented by award-winning Bonsai artist Kathy Steyn, the exhibition will be held from 8.30am to 4pm at the NSRI base in Meerensee.
After buying her first Bonsai tree 20 years ago, Kathy has since styled many trees and her Bonsai collection has grown to 10 000 in her nursery.
Kathy has exhibited her trees at numerous Bonsai conventions and has been received 53 certificates over the years.
At the Top 10 in 2016, she won seven of the 10 trophies awarded on the day.
She also received a special SABA (South African Bonsai Association) award at a convention in Bloemfontein.
The exhibition is open to both members and non-members of the society at a rate of R140 for members and R180 for non-members.
Bookings are essential because space is limited.
For catering purposes, bookings are to be made by Wednesday.
To book, contact Ronnie Gericke on ronnie.gericke1@gmail.com or 083 4272213.
There will be a lucky draw for R10 a ticket and Bonsai pots, tools, soil and trees will be on sale.
So for those with a passion for Bonsai, or those wanting to get into the art, this exhibition is a ‘must-see’ event.
