Rolling bakkie crushes man’s legs

The incident occurred on the R618 near Mtubatuba

A MAN was last week rushed to hospital in a serious condition after a bakkie rolled back, crushing his legs.

The incident occurred on the R618 near Mtubatuba.

According to Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst, the driver of the bakkie accidentally disengaged the handbrake as he was climbing out of the vehicle.

The bakkie rolled back and crushed the legs of the 34-year-old man who was standing behind the vehicle.

He was treated by a Netcare 911 Advanced Life Support Paramedic and transported to hospital for further medical treatment.
