Controversial Sodwana guesthouse owner Andre Slade guilty of hate speech
Slade, who in 2016 said he would never accommodate black people as he believed that black and white people should not mix, has been ordered to pay a R50 000 fine
FORMER Sodwana Bay guesthouse owner Andre Slade (54) and his Slovakian partner Katerina Krizaniova (28), were found guilty of hate speech in the Ubombo Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Slade and Krizaniova were ordered by Magistrate Tamo Moodley to pay a fine of R50 000, which will be donated to Mpilonhle, a non-profit organisation based in Mtubatuba. This should be done within 60 days.

Following the judgement, Slade told the ZO he would not be paying the fine and would rather be killed or thrown in jail before he pays any money.
Slade made headlines in 2016 when he sent out an email barring blacks and government officials from his guesthouse in Sodwana Bay.
