THE newly elected KZN Democratic Alliance (DA) leadership has vowed to do everything in its power to reduce the ANC’s dominance in the province.
That was the message from Zwakele Mncwango, who was re-elected as provincial leader during the party’s provincial congress in Durban on Saturday.
Mncwango said the new leadership will channel their energies and focus firmly on winning the 2019 general elections.
‘We will be going into these elections with one thing in mind, to become the governing party in the province. If that fails, we will work to reduce the ruling party’s support base to below 50%.

‘To do this, we are assembling a strong and formidable team to achieve our goal, and to run the best election campaign this province has ever seen from the DA,’ he said.
Mncwango also announced that former MPL Mbali Ntuli will lead the party’s election campaign as KZN Provincial Campaign Director (PCD).
‘The importance of the PCD cannot be underestimated in achieving our goal in KZN, as we need to recruit more volunteers than ever before.
‘Ntuli’s task will be to ensure that all our campaigns resonate with many different markets, in particular voters in the 18 to 35 age group and rural and peri-urban communities,’ he said.
