Suspected rhino poachers killed

TWO suspected rhino poachers were on Sunday night shot and killed by game rangers near the Makhamisa outpost within Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park’s (HiP) wilderness area .
The incident occurred just before 10pm and the bodies were recovered on Monday morning.
According to KwaMbonambi SAPS Communications Officer Captain Mthethwa, the game rangers acted in self-defence after coming under fire by the suspected poachers.

A third suspect fled the scene.
A variety of weapons were recovered at the scene including a 404 rifle with silencer and two live rounds, two 404 rifle projectiles and two axes.
