Residents warned about bogus inspectors

The City of uMhlathuze has issued a notice urging residents to contact the municipality immediately if approached by anyone purporting to be an electrical meter inspector.

This after reports of people claiming to be City officials and inspectors approaching homeowners to inspect their electrical meters.

The municipality said it is aware of the situation and is looking into the matter.

All instances of bogus officials are to be reported to the municipal call centre on 0800 222827 and the City will immediately send security officials.
