DLANGEZWA High School’s top matric learner, Londeka Ntshembeni (17), not only topped his class but was named among the top achievers in the region.
Achieving seven distinctions, the eNgwavuma teen was placed in the King Cetshwayo District’s op five list, claiming 4th position.
She received As in mathematics, physical science, life science, geography, life orientation, isiZulu and English.
‘Even though I knew I would pass, I didn’t know how many distinctions I would get. I’m very happy and proud of myself for working hard all year round,’ she said.
According to Londeka, teaching classmates is what helped her throughout the year.
‘When you teach others, you also learn more. I set challenges to myself as part of the learning process.’
This bright youngster will study medicine at the University of Stellenbosch.
She said her ultimate goal is to make a difference and influence a positive change, especially in her birth place in Ngwavuma.
