Empangeni scouts out training

THE Empangeni Scouts held its annual Makoya Training Camp where scouts are taught a variety of ways of living in the bush by using available resources.

These activities include how to make a 5-star campsite, cooking meals without using an electric stove, and navigating without using a compass.

The camp was evaluated by Jethro Hlophe (1st Grantham Park Troop Scouter), while Magda Nel (District Commissioner – Zululand) and Pieter West (1st Richards Bay Sea Scouts Troop Scouter) oversaw the progress of the camping standards.
