LifeLine praises community support
While the event soon got into party mode, there were also words of encouragement and motivation for the employees
AT the close of yet another demanding year, LifeLine Zululand staff last week enjoyed a closing function hosted by Umfolozi Casino and Convention Resort.
While the event soon got into party mode, there were also words of encouragement and motivation for the employees.
LifeLine Zululand Board Chairman, Dave Savides urged staff to take every opportunity to upgrade their qualifications and attend seminars that would aid their personal growth and depth of knowledge.
‘Individually you are a huge asset for your community and collectively you are a force that can benefit many lives.
‘You have chosen a profession that is tough – you are never off duty and always in demand – but extremely rewarding and vitally important,’ he said.
Director of LifeLine Zululand, Michelle Jewlal emphasised the organisation could never function without the help it gets from the community.
‘As our core business focusses on emotional wellness and on providing free psychosocial support and initiatives to individuals and families that seek its services, we pride ourselves in helping people.
‘However, who aids us in our times of need? The answer is: LifeLine gets by with assistance from our friends and supporters, especially local business entities.
‘LifeLine’s belief is that an emotionally well person copes better with life’s challenges, within diverse cultural societies.
‘Thanks to our many benefactors, we are able to keep the ball rolling in our efforts to restore emotional well-being in the community.’
While appreciating every bit of help from all sources, Jewlal singled out some who played an integral part in the organisation’s functioning over the year by providing funds, goods, services or venues.
They included: Padayachee Bros, WJ Mitchell & Associates, Coe Lanie, TMI Technology, ADT, East Coast Plumbers, RBIDZ, Shalom Catering, Umfolozi Casino Resort and Boardwalk Inkwazi.
