A TIP-OFF LED to the arrest of three suspects in possession of drugs and unlicensed ammunition in Pongola last week.
Police spokesperson, Captain Nkosie Gwala, said a multi-disciplinary approach by Public Order Policing, a Tactical Response Team and National Intervention Unit deployed in Pongola and surroundings areas conducted their ‘festive season operations’ to preventing cross-border crimes.
‘During a patrol they received information about suspects manufacturing drugs at Pongola’s Industrial Park.

‘Drugs such as ecstasy, cocaine, crystal meth, crack cocaine and dagga were found with a street value of more than R1.5-million.
‘Two of the suspects were charged for being in possession of drugs and the third charged for being in possession of ammunition as he was found with two AK47 and five 9mm rounds,’ said Gwala.
