Suspected arsonists arrested

At around 4am suspects broke into the eShowe Spar and stole boxes of cigarettes and an undisclosed number of coins

ESHOWE detective, Const John Wynne, has arrested two suspects believed to have been involved in the fire at the eShowe Spar on Saturday, 9 December.

At around 4am suspects broke into the eShowe Spar and stole boxes of cigarettes and an undisclosed number of coins.

They then set the shop alight, causing damage estimated to be around R15-million.

Following up on information, Const Wynne arrested the 29- and 30-year-old suspects.

Coins to the value of R340 was found on one of the suspects.

Both men are being detained at the eShowe SAPS and are expected to appear in the eShowe Magistrate’s Court soon.
