According to reports, the Jaws of Life had to be used to extradite patients who were entrapped in the taxi, however it was too late for the three patients who had already succumbed to their injuries.
Five other patients were injured during the crash and transported to Ngwelezana Hospital for treatment, while one critically injured patient was airlifted to the hospital by KZN EMRS.
Meanwhile on Tuesday morning the Eyethu Bay Watch received reports that another crash had taken place in the same vicinity, however very little information was available at the time of going to print.
