Charities partner to spread goodwill

Charities partner to spread cheer this festive season

PARTNERSHIPS are key in assisting communities in need – and this was evident on Monday when the uThungulu Community Foundation (UCF) and the Zululand Observer’s charity arm, Do I Care Enough? (DICE) teamed up to spread goodwill to local senior citizens.

DICE donated 50 Christmas food buckets to the uThungulu Community Foundation for distribution to pensioners from different communities within the City of uMhlathuze.

UCF Chief Executive Officer Simphiwe Mbatha said the foundation, which celebrated its 18th anniversary, was pleased to receive the Christmas gifts from DICE and its founder Regina Anthony, a charity that has supported them since its inception in 1999.

‘Both organisations have come a long way since then in helping and supporting our local communities.

‘Our aim is to partner with caring local individuals and organisations in developing the local community on principles based on sustainability, fairness, transparency, justice, and respect for human dignity and diversity,’ Mbatha said.
