Swimming in support of guide dogs

The event, sponsored by Xerox, saw swimmers completing in 100m, 200m, 800m or 1600m distances around demarcated buoys

MORE than 100 swimmers entered the Big Splash open water swim at the Zululand Multi Sports Club on Saturday morning in aid of the SA Guide Dog Association.

The event, sponsored by Xerox, saw swimmers completing in 100m, 200m, 800m or 1600m distances around demarcated buoys.

All funds raised on the day were donated to the non-profit organisation.

Michael Esterhuyse finished second overall in the 1 600m swim with a time of 18.24

Results

100m – 1 Ankia Uys 1 minute and 31 seconds, 2 Jana Naude 01.32 and 3 Kiana Fernandes 01.44.

200m – 1 Paige Vorster 3 minutes and 17 seconds, 2 Mackenzie Gouws 03.21 and 3 Bryce Vorster 03.25.

800m – 1 Sharon Crous 9 minutes and 27 seconds, 2 Kayla Jansen 11.36 and 3 Saskia Ludick 11.39.

1600m – 1 Brett Manning 18 minutes and 12 seconds, 2 Michael Esterhuyse 18.24 and 3 Sharon Crous 18.26.
