COUNCILLOR Mboniseni Nkwanyana mourns the death of his brother, who was attacked by unknown men who hacked him to death on Monday night.
Nkwanyana said his brother, Senzo ‘Skhulu’ (44) residing at Nonkunjana Reserve at Umlalazi, was ‘butchered’, and one of his feet was chopped off during the violent incident.
‘I was not at home but family members who were present heard him calling for help. They were scared to come out as one of the boys had seen men chopping him with an axe,’ he said.
Nkwanyana said his brother was a crime fighter in the area and as a family they are devastated about his death.

‘After the assailants had gone, family members attended to him but when they asked him if he could identify his attackers, he could not.
‘He died on his way to the hospital.’
Nkwanyana describe Senzo as humble man who worked to uplift his community.
‘He had a soccer team, which won the mayor’s cup in June this year, which is why they gave him the nickname Skhulu.’
Nkwanyana urged the community to work with the police to apprehend the killers.
Police spokesman Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose said Mtunzini police are investigating a case of murder and no arrest has yet been made.
