Weekend wild weather warning!
Heavy rains coupled with hail and strong winds are expected

THE province’s disaster management teams have been placed on standby for inclement weather conditions expected to hit parts of Zululand and the northern parts of the province this weekend.
‘The department has alerted municipalities to oncoming risks, and they have put measures in place to deal with any eventuality,’ said KZN MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Nomusa Dube-Ncube.
His warning was aimed specifically at residents of Zululand, uMgungundlovu, uThukela, Amajuba, and UMzinyathi .

‘Motorists – we urge you to drive slowly as roads are slippery.
‘If your are trapped in your vehicle in rising water, abandon it immediately seek higher ground,’ continued Dube-Ncube.
He also said residents should not take unnecessary risks by crossing rivers or swollen streams where the water is above their ankles.
‘Please follow news reports on radio and television for updates on the situation across the province,’ he concluded.
