THE eShowe Regional Court on Tuesday denied bail to Snethemba Magwaza (22), charged with two counts of attempted murder.
It was heard that on 5 October the suspect went to his ex-girlfriend’s homestead at Basamlilo Ecekeni near eShowe.
He broke a window to gain entry where the victim (17) was sleeping with her sister.
He stabbed her 18 times in the chest, shoulders and upper back. The younger sister woke up and tried to help her sister, but was also stabbed before Magwaza ran away. Detective W/O Mcanyana traced and
arrested the suspect.
• In another case, 28-year-old Siyabonga Percival Masuku was convicted and sentenced to 15 years
imprisonment for murder. Masuku shot Muzi Ngcobo, who he accused of beating up his brother.
He was arrested in Pinetown on 13 April, 2016.
