Tree of Light to honour lost loved ones

It will take place at the Zululand Observer premises in Empangeni on Tuesday, 28 November at 5.30pm

THE Zululand Hospice’s annual Tree of Light ceremony allows members of our community to gather together to remember loved ones they have lost.

It will take place at the Zululand Observer premises in Empangeni on Tuesday, 28 November at 5.30pm.

Bring along a picnic blanket and a camping chair, gather around the tree and light up the evening with a globe bought in remembrance and honour of departed family and friends.

Soft drinks and light meals will be on sale.

The service will be inter-denominational, and community members across all faiths are invited to attend.

The R50 you spend on a globe for the Tree of Light will be used to provide comfort, care, compassion and counselling to patients and families under the loving care of Zululand Hospice.

Purchase your globe by visiting the offices of Zululand Hospice in Empangeni (18 Turnbull Street), or for further information please contact Vanessa on 035 7724910.

The government does not fund hospice care in South Africa, and they rely on the support of individuals, bequeaths and local corporate support to undertake their work, which focuses primarily on palliative care for patients affected by cancer or HIV/Aids.
