Prized motorcycle stolen in Richards Bay suburb

Late husband's motorcycle stolen in Richards Bay front yard

A RICHARDS Bay woman was shocked to discover her late husband’s prized motorcycle had been stolen from her property in Arboretum this week.

According to Naomi Pretorius, she discovered the Kawasaki Cruiser 1600 was missing on Wednesday morning when her tenant left for work around 6am.

‘He noticed the electric gate was open and the bike which is usually parked next to his bakkie was gone.

‘It was my late husband’s motorcycle and he last used it about four months ago. He passed away on 12 August and the bike had been parked in the front yard since.

‘The bike was still is working condition, it was sentimental and his pride and joy.

‘As a family we spoke about selling it in the future but now it has been taken from us,’ she said.

Having had the motorcycle for over eight years, Naomi said it was well taken care of but had a few scratches on the fender and the chrome on the seat needed some work.

She could easily identify it by those marks.

She confirmed there were no noises or disturbances that night and was concerned about how they removed the vehicle and tampered with the electric gate to gain entry to the premises.
