MEC Kaunda means business
Kaunda emphasised the fact that the district is the second largest growing economy in the province and it was therefore crucial that businesses within the area be protected
During a recent visit, KZN MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Mxolisi Kaunda, highlighted business crime as a growing concern in the King Cetshwayo District Municipality.
Kaunda emphasised the fact that the district is the second largest growing economy in the province and it was therefore crucial that businesses within the area be protected.
‘Business robbery, carjacking and stock theft all remain concerns for this district. eSikhaleni has been highlighted as a crime hot spot, making it difficult for emerging businesses to invest in the area.
‘Crime that affects employees negatively impacts on business and we have to put a stop to this.’
Kaunda also noted that it was not government’s responsibility to create jobs. ‘government’s responsibility is establish an environment in which businesses can flourish and they create jobs for people.
But we cannot do this if criminals continue to hinder business activity,’ he said.
