ILLEGALLY erected shacks identified as ‘environmental hazards’ at the eShowe taxi and bus rank were demolished on Monday.
Promoting a safe and healthy environment for all residents, uMlalazi Municipality officials and police rolled up their sleeves for the clean-up.

‘The intervention followed a tour undertaken two weeks ago, during which it was determined that pop-up shacks promote illegal trading and alcohol and drug dealings,’ said the municipality’s Communications Manager, Mkhuseli ‘Chaos’ Buthelezi.
‘The demolition of the structures was to remove the shacks to keep our town clean and safe for all residents.’
