CALLING all animal lovers! This is your chance to put yourselves in the place of a rescued animal by spending a night in a kennel at the Richards Bay SPCA – all in aid of raising funds for the local branch.
‘A night in the life of a rescue animal’ is set for Friday, 10 November (6pm to 6am the following day), but teams must register by Friday.
The idea is for each team of four to try reach a fund-raising target of R5 000, but all funds raised, whether more or less than the target, are welcome.
The event is open to all. Families, schools or corporate groups can form a team and each must bring a gazebo, camping chairs, sleeping bags or blankets, pillows and food and drinks.
Braai facilities will be available.
Dog or cat food must also be brought by each team member – after all, how can you eat without feeding the animals?
Rules
One team member must be in a kennel at all times during the 12 hour period, and this can be done in shifts.
Anyone causing a disturbance or acting in a harmful manner towards the animals will be asked to leave.
Each team must commit to trying their best to reach the R5 000 target.
Once registered, teams will receive their sponsorship form and advertising media.
The organisation relies on private and corporate donations and sponsorship. Its high running costs mean constant financial challenges.
To register your team, contact the event organiser Shirley at Magic Moments on magicmomentsrb@gmail.com or 076 7548948.
