Missing Nongoma toddler’s family await DNA results

THE family of a two-year-old baby girl who went missing near Nongoma in August, is awaiting DNA test results which will determine whether remains found in the vicinity of her father’s homestead in the Maye area can be linked to the little toddler.

The little girl went missing after she went to her grandmother for a quick visit.
When she failed to return home, the community was mobilised into a search party. Eventually the SAPS Search and Rescue Unit from Empangeni and the Ulundi Dog Unit from Ulundi were called in to help with the search, but Esihle was nowhere to be found.
On Friday human remains were found in the river not far from Ntshangase’s home, as well as a tracksuit and nappy similar to those the child was wearing when she disappeared.
