SAPS were quick to react to information of a unknown vehicle abandoned near a home at eSikhaleni on Tuesday morning.
The green Toyota Hiace matched the description of a vehicle hijacked in Durban the day before.
SAPS members pounced on the location but found no suspects present.
According to reports the minibus taxi was driven and parked off near a home in eSikhaleni early on Tuesday morning, where the suspects abandoned it.
Fingerprints were taken from the vehicle for further investigation.
